Lovers of old fashioned hymns should enjoy Marjorie Owen's CD entitled 'How Sweet The Sound - Sacred Songs From Long Ago' featuring such titles as 'It Is Well With My Soul', 'Amazing Grace', and 'Sweet Hour of Prayer.' Two older children's songs, 'Jesus Loves Me' and 'Jewels' round out the playlist of ten offerings.

'This is my heart, my contribution to those who come after me. It's not perfect, but then it's not bad. And it's me. I like that.'

playlist Through the years Owen continued to seek opportunities to sing in various choirs and singing groups, both in the ranks and as a soloist. Recently she sang with the Transylvania Choral Society as a member of the chorus when they presented, jointly with the Brevard Philharmonic Orchestra, the Christmas portion of Handel's 'Messiah.'

Owen is a member of North Toxaway Baptist Church where she sings on a regular basis. She also sings at other local churches on occasion.

'I always wanted to make a recording, but until now that was an impossible dream. Better late than not at all,' she says. Proklaim Recording Studio of Brevard produced the CD, including the graphics for the cover that depicts the Lake Toxaway Methodist Church. 'How Sweet The Sound - Sacred Songs From Long Ago' is available for $15.00 at Rockin Robin Records in Brevard.
